Delaware, Ohio - DePauw battled back from a 2-1 deficit, but 25th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan won the decisive fifth set to take a 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 12-25, 15-7) North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Tigers.
The Tigers dropped to 15-7 overall and 4-2 in the NCAC, while the Battling bishops improved to 23-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
Trailing 2-1 in the match, the Tigers went on a 17-4 run in the fourth set to take command and even the match. The hosts, however, got out to an 8-2 lead in the fifth set and the Tigers got no closer than three points.
Lauren Falotico led the Tigers with 15 kills followed by Elisabeth Wilson with 13 and Suzanne Peters with 12. Wilson hit .333 for the match. Faith Rolwes assisted on 48 of the Tigers' 56 kills and, along with Keely McGrath, Emily Beckes and Brekiesha Weszely, recorded two service aces. Rachael Lenderman led with 30 digs and Wilson totaled six blocks.
Brianna La Croix paced Ohio Wesleyan with 16 kills and Iris Anderson added 14. Shannon Schlater assisted 24 of the Battling Bishops' 49 kills and Tierra Copley added 18. Krysta Iwanek ;led with two aces, while Nina Carmichael-Tanaka had 27 digs. Meigan Day totaled a team-best four blocks in the win.
DePauw hosts Denison on Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m.
