Tigers Drop Five-Set Match at Hiram

Hiram, Ohio - Prior to today, DePauw was 5-0 in five-set matches, but this afternoon Hiram changed that by rallying for a 3-2 win over the Tigers. 

DePauw took a 2-1 lead with a 27-25 win in the opening set and a 25-23 victory in the third which sandwiched a 25-22 Hiram win in the second. The Terriers, however, took the fourth set by a 25-20 count and the fifth, 15-11.

The Tigers dropped to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC, while Hiram is now 12-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Suzanne Peters led DePauw with 19 kills, while Lauren Falotico followed with 15. Faith Rolwes assisted on 51 of the Tigers' 62 kills with Keely McGrath and Rachael Lenderman each totaling 18 digs. Rolwes had seven block assists and Elisabeth Wilson six.

Lindsay Brewer paced Hiram with 20 kills with Katie Barton adding 15. Claire Maier assisted on 53 of the Terriers' 61 kills and Megan Schaefer led with three service aces. Laura Kelly had a team-high 39 digs for Hiram and Marissa Jay totaled five blocks.

DePauw hosts Oberlin on Saturday, October 3, at Noon.
