Tigers Overcome Two-Set Deficit and Top Grizzlies in Season Opener

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw dropped the first two sets of its season-opening match with visiting Franklin, but the Tigers rallied by taking the final three sets and a 3-2 victory.

The Grizzlies won the opening set 25-20 and extended the lead to 2-0 after a 25-22 victory in the second set. DePauw came back with convincing 25-12 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively. In the fifth and decisive set, DePauw scored the final four points for a 15-9 win.

Lauren Falotico led DePauw with 22 kills, while Faith Rolwes assisted on 56 of the Tigers' 71 kills. Keely McGrath totaled 22 digs and Quinci Miller posted five block assists. 

Emily Young paced Franklin with 11 kills and Ashley Bazier totaled 26 assists while Mackenzie Wieneke had 15 digs.

DePauw returns to action on Friday, September 4, at Ohio Northern.
