DePauw Stays Perfect in NCAC with 3-0 Win over Ohio Wesleyan

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw hit .343 including .382 in the third and final set and cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Ohio Wesleyan. The Tigers improved to 14-4 overall and 3-0 in NCAC play, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 12-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

DePauw held an 8-6 lead in the opening set before going on an 11-3 run to push the margin to 19-9 on the way to the 25-14 win.

The only time the Tigers trailed in the match occurred three times early in the second set before the Tigers pulled away to as much as an eight-point lead at 20-12. The Bishops rallied with six straight points, but the Tigers closed the set by winning four of the final five points.

DePauw took a quick 7-2 advantage in the third set and Ohio Wesleyan never got closer than four the rest of the way.

Sarah Burtenshaw led DePauw with 13 kills and hit .542, while Lauren Falotico put down 10 and hit .400. Molly Rinehart finished with a .438 attack percentage.

Faith Rolwes assisted on 39 of DePauw's 44 kills, while Keely McGrath led with 22 digs and Elisabeth Wilson totaled four blocks.

Iris Anderson led Ohio Wesleyan with 10 kills, while Shannon Schlater had 22 of the Bishops' 29 assists. Erin Cannon paced the team with 15 digs.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, October 4, when it hosts Kenyon at 3 p.m. and Marian (Ind.) at 5 p.m.
