Greencastle, Ind. - The 22nd-ranked Tigers closed out another perfect weekend with a pair of 3-0 wins today as they captured the DePauw Tigers Invitational title. DePauw improved to 10-1 with the wins and extended its win streak to nine.
DePauw opened the day with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-19 win over Hanover and were led by eight kills apiece from Faith Rolwes and Mary Kate Etling. Rolwes assisted on 23 of the Tigers' 35 kills with Keely McGrath heading up the defensive effort with 20 digs in addition to her three service aces. Hanover dropped to 6-8 with the loss.
The Tigers wrapped up the tournament with a 25-20, 30-28, 25-23 victory over 25th-ranked Millikin. DePauw got out to a 5-0 lead in the opening set and never trailed.
The Big Blue led most of the second set and held a 22-16 advantage before the Tigers rallied to tie the score at 24-24 on Elisabeth Wilson's kill. The set was tied four more times before the Tigers won the last two points to take a 2-0 lead. A tight third set ensued with the Tigers taking the lead for good at 22-21.
Lauren Falotico and Etling each had 12 kills, while Wilson added 10. Rolwes assisted on 38 of DePauw's 46 kills with McGrath totaling 21 digs. The Tigers' defense was also bolstered by five block solos and 16 block assists. Wilson led with three solos and five assists.
