DePauw is Sixth at Indiana Division III Championships

Greencastle, Ind. - Paced by the top two finishers in the 10,000 meters and a second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, DePauw totaled 73 points and finished sixth at the Indiana Division III Track and Field Championships at Blackstock Stadium.

Earlham won the meet with 147 points, while Manchester was second with 143. Rose-Hulman's Gabby Razma was named the Field MVP, while Hannah Wappes of Manchester was the Track MVP.

Meghan Hennessey crossed first in the 10K in 40:30.36, while Haley Thompson wasn't far behind in second in 40:43.02. Tori Flowers picked up a second in the steeplechase in 12:19.96.

The Tigers collected 11 points in the 800 with Natalie Gruszka finishing third (2:25.39) and Gabby Coffing placing fourth (2:28.03).

Also finishing third were Mackenzie Jones in the 400 hurdles (1:14.20), Riley Hickman in the 5,000 meters (20:12.51) and Emily Wilson in the high jump (1.51m/4-11.5). Seventh-place finishes were turned in by Emily Schabes in the 400 meters (1:07.23), Andrea Nunez-Garcia in the 1,500 meters (5:26.45) and Kira Singer in the 5,000 (20:55.10). Also scoring in the 1,500 was Maddy Bahr in eighth place (5:36.72).

The Tigers' 4 x 400 relay was third in 4:19.39 and the 4 x 100 relay was fourth in 53.08 seconds.

DePauw competes next in the Rose-Hulman Twilight on Friday, April 20, at 5 p.m.
