Tigers Finish Fifth at Own Invitational; Daanen, Thompson Post Firsts

Greencastle, Ind. - Led by a pair of firsts, DePauw totaled 92 points and finished fifth at the DePauw Invitational. Illinois Wesleyan won with 196.5 and Centre was second with 132.

Kaitlyn Daanen picked up a first in the 100 meters in 12.70 seconds, while Amanda Weber was fourth in the event in 12.94. Daanen was also second in the 200 meters (26.98) and Weber fourth (27.57).

Haley Thompson was the other DePauw winner as she crossed first in the 5,000 meters in 18:49.46. She was followed in the event by Natalie Gruszka in second (19:36.76) and Tori Flowers in fourth (19:56.40).

Lois Miller turned in a third-place performance in the 1,500 meters (5:03.12) with Becca Conley placing seventh (5:12.81).

The Tigers picked up 11 points in the steeplechase with Riley Hickman finishing third (13:01.78) and Anna Nagy fourth (13:24.56).

Emily Wilson paced the Tigers in the high jump with a third-place finish (1.59m/5-2.5) with Eleana Ponder sixth (1.44m/4-8.75).

Also finishing fourth were Hannah Adams in then javelin (27.40m/89-11) and Mackenzie Jones in the 400-meter hurdles (1:18.90), while Gabby Coffing was sixth in the 800 meters (2:33.28).

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 15, when they host the Indiana Division III Championships.
