DII Ranked Indianapolis defeats DePauw women 9-0

Indianapolis, Ind. – The DePauw women's tennis team competed on Tuesday, falling to Division II No. 16 Indianapolis 9-0.

The women saw a pair of DII Top 10 ranked players in No. 3 Hanna Volikova and No. 7 Stephanie Hirsch. Volikova defeated Maddie Lee in the No. 1 singles flight 6-1, 6-1, while Hirsch defeated Ali Bush 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.

Every match ended in straight sets. At No. 5 singles Megan Galle took her opponent to a tiebreaker in the second set but eventually lost 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Gretchen Wilder at No. 2 and Meredith Breda at No. 6 lost 6-1, 6-1 respectively. Colleen Morris fell at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles play, Wilder and Lee lost 8-4 at No. 1. Breda and Alyssa Seneviratne lost 8-3 at No. 2 and the duo of Galle and Sarah Wilder fell at No. 3 doubles 8-6.

DePauw is now 1-2 overall and hosts Centre on Friday.
