Newlon Competes in 200 Fly at NCAA Championships

Shenandoah, Texas - Angela Newlon returned to the pool earlier today at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships as she competed in the 200-yard butterfly.

The senior finished 28th in the prelims in 2:06.18.

On Wednesday, Newlon earned her third consecutive all-America honor in the 500 free and fourth career accolade after placing sixth. With that finish she also became DePauw's all-time leading scorer at national championships with 80 points, topping the mark of 68 held by Adrienne Rasbach and Katie Reis.

Newlon wraps up her collegiate career tomorrow night when she swims the 1,650 freestyle. She enters the event seeded third in the nation and finished third at last year's Championships.
