Ada, Ohio -- Ohio Northern did not allow the DePauw women's soccer team to get off a single shot, and their goal 12 minutes into the game was enough to claim a 1-0 victory on Friday.
The Polar Bears got their only goal when Anna Niemeyer played a deflected ball and got her shot just by DePauw goalie Mia Manney. Manney, starting her first game in net for the Tigers, made six saves, including five in the second half alone.
Ohio Northern (2-1) outshot the Tigers 25-0 with 12 shots in the first half and 13 in the second. Ohio Northern also won the corner kick advantage 9-2 as DePauw recorded both of theirs in the first half.
DePauw now falls to 0-2 on the year but will get back to the grind tomorrow with a 4 p.m. contest at Capital.
