Six Tigers named All-NCAC

Cleveland, Ohio – Six players from the women's soccer team were recently given All-NCAC honors while coach Megan McCormick picked up the NCAC Coach of the Year award.

Earning All-NCAC first team honors were sophomore forward Bridget Brendza and senior defender Meredith Schoenfeld. Brendza led the team with 14 points and six assists while also scoring four goals.

Schoenfeld was the anchor in the backfield as opponents tallied just 1.32 goals per game. She was selected to the All-NCAC second team last year.

Junior forward Elizabeth Seewer made the All-NCAC second team after being an honorable mention last year. She also led the team with 14 points with six goals and two assists.

Senior Megann Lear joins Seewer on the All-NCAC second team. She had a team-high six assists and makes her third consecutive appearance on the second team.

Finally, seniors Caroline Zadina and Alyson Marzonie were honorable mentions. Zadina was an honorable mention in 2013, and Marzonie was one last year. Zadina scored two goals on the season, and Marzonie had one goal and three assists.

McCormick earned her first coach of the year award in just her second season with the Tigers. The team won the NCAC regular season and tournament championships and takes a 12-6-1 record into the NCAA Tournament on Friday. They face Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.
