Greencastle, Ind. – The women's soccer team will open play in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Friday when they face Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Calvin College. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
The Tigers (12-6-1) received an automatic bid into the tournament after winning the NCAC Tournament title. Wisconsin-Oshkosh (14-4-2) received an at-large bid after falling to Wisconsin-Whitewater in their WIAC championship game 1-0. The Titans finished the season ranked 25th in the nation by the NSCAA Coaches Poll.
DePauw will be making its eighth appearance and its first since 2012. They hold a 5-7-2 tournament record.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh is making its fourth appearance with its last coming in 2014. They hold a 0-3-1 tourney record.
This will be the second meeting between the Tigers and the Titans. DePauw won their lone matchup in 2002.
The winner will advance to the second round Saturday to play either Calvin College (18-2-2) or the Milwaukee School of Engineering (15-6) at 1 p.m. Calvin and MSOE play in the first game at 11 a.m. on Friday.
