#17 Tigers in Ninth after Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

Jekyll Island, Ga. - Led by Rachele Miller's 79, 17th-ranked DePauw totaled a 323 and is in ninth-place after the first of three rounds of the Jekyll Island Collegiate. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps leads with 314, while Washington-St. Louis is second at 316.

Miller's 79 is good for a tie for 18th and came on the strength of three birdies and seven pars. Larisa Luloff is tied for 22nd at 80 with 11 pars in the opening round.

Anna Foley and Sheinnera Gerongay each shot 82 to tie for 42nd and Danielle Smith is tied for 49th with an 83.

Oglethorpe's Hayley Willman leads the field with a 73.

As a team, the Tigers led the field in par 3 scoring at +6 and tied for second with 47 pars.

Second-round play on the Indian Mound Course gets underway Saturday morning.
