Wittenberg Shoots Tournament Record 300 to Lead Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic

Clayton, Ind. - DePauw shot an opening-round 323 and is tied with Washington and Lee for sixth after the opening day of the Dan Quayle Collegiate Golf Classic at Deer Creek Golf Club. Wittenberg leads with a 300 followed by Indiana Tech (312), Illinois Wesleyan "A" (318), William Penn (318) and Lewis & Clark (321). The 300 is the record for a single round in the tournament.

Rachele Miller paced DePauw with a 78 and is tied for second, while Larisa Luloff and Danielle Smith each shot 80 to tie for 18th. Anna Foley and Sheinnera Gerongay rounded out the lineup at 85 and 88, respectively. 

Playing as individuals, Frankie Bell shot an 82 and Kenzile Westerfield finished with an 83.

Jane Hopkinson-Wood of Wittenberg leads the field after setting a tournament record with a 70.

Final round play gets underway tomorrow morning.
