Burguete and Batt Compete at NCAA Championships

Louisville, Ky. - DePauw junior Polo Burguete and sophomore Zach Batt represented the Tigers at today's NCAA Division III Championships.

Burguete completed the 8,000-meter course in 25:12.7 to finish 63rd, while Batt was 177th in 25:52.0.

Both had solid starts as Burguete was 21st after 2,000 meters, while Batt was 34th.

"Polo and Zach's race plan was to be very aggressive and see what happens," head coach Kori Stoffregen said.

"Polo held really well and it was more tough for Zach. Both return next year and will be much better at nationals with this year's experience."

Wisconsin-Platteville's Ian LeMere won in 23:40.4.
