Dozier Doubles Up All-America Honors

Waverly, Iowa - DePauw's Marcus Dozier (South Bend, Ind./Riley) collected his second all-America honor in as many days after he placed seventh in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Dozier's top mark of 16.85 meters (55-3.5) came on his final throw of the prelims and sent him into the finals.

Alex Mess of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was the winner in 18.17 meters (59-7.5).

Yesterday, Dozier placed fourth in the discus throw for the second all-America honor of his career. He is DePauw's first all-America honoree in the shot put and the first Tiger to earn all-America accolades in two different events at the same Championship since Eric Fruth did so in the 5,000- and 10,000 meters in 2002.
