DePauw senior Marcus Dozier (South Bend, Ind./Riley) was recently named the NCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after breaking his own school-record in winning the shot put at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invitational.
Dozier broke his own record twice, with the last and winning toss at 16.52 meters, which is currently the fourth best nationally in Division III. His third toss came at 16.49 meters.
Dozier majors in education studies.
The Tigers opened the season with a pair of fourth-place team showings on Friday. Polo Burguete (El Paso, TX/Culver Academies) won the 3,000-meter run in 8:52.97, and Kaitlyn Daanen (Kokomo, IN/Northwestern) won two events in her first collegiate track meet -- the 60-meter dash in 8.21 seconds and the 200 meters in 27.47 seconds.
DePauw returns to action on Feb. 5 when they host the Tiger Small College Invitational.
