Tigers Suffer 8-1 Defeat to Ranked Gustavus Adolphus

West Bend, Wis. -- The No. 3 doubles team of Dan Rodefeld and Matt Santen recorded the lone win for DePauw in the team's 8-1 loss to 31st-ranked Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday.

Rodefeld and Santen defeated David Hagberg and Yassine Derbani 9-7. The other two doubles matches were narrow defeats with Patrick Farrell and John Daseke losing at the No. 1 flight 9-8, and Nate Wallace and Harold Martin falling at No. 2 8-6.

In singles action, Santen at No. 2 and Petar Barcot at No. 5 pushed their opponents to three sets. Santen lost 6-4, 6-7, 10-6, and Barcot lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

At No. 1 Rodefeld lost 6-1, 6-0; at No. 3 Farrell lost 6-4, 6-3; at No. 4 Greg Frauenheim lost 6-2, 6-3; and at No. 6 Wallace fell 6-2, 7-5.

Gustavus improved to 20-7 with the win, while DePauw falls to 5-8. The men return home Sunday to face Coe.
