McManus Earns All-America Honors after School-Record 100 Breast Performance

Shenandoah, Texas - DePauw junior Sam McManus made history this evening as he earned all-America honors in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Championships and broke his own school record in the process.

McManus, who set the school record during the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in February, was eighth in the prelims in 55.25 seconds and wrapped up the all-America distinction with an eighth-place finals performance in 54.94 seconds.

The eighth-place showing in the event equaled DePauw's best showing in the event as Matt Kukurugya was also eighth at the 2011 Championships.

McManus will compete in the 200-yard breast on tomorrow's final day of the Championships.
