Addy Qualifies for NCAA Diving Regional; Tigers Finish Sixth at Kenyon

Gambier, Ohio - Led by Eric Addy's NCAA Regional qualifying performance in one-meter diving, DePauw wrapped up competition at Kenyon's Total Performance Sports Camps Invitational with a sixth-place finish with 570 points.

University of Pennsylvania won with 2,572 points followed by Kenyon (1,907), Johns Hopkins (1257.5), Carnegie Mellon (1,022) and Davidson (799.5).

Addy finished second on the one-meter board and earned qualification into the NCAA Regional with both his prelim and finals performance. In the prelims he totaled 463.05 points before improving to 474.65 in the finals.

Kurt Swieter finished 19th in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:43.03 after swimming 4:36.96 in the prelims. Adam Pircon was 23rd in 4:39.19.

Eli Anderson turned in a 17th-place showing in the 200 backstroke in 1:56.45 which came after a 1:56.33 time in the prelims. Kyle Winters was 20th in the event in 1:56.93 including a 1:56.47 prelim time.

In the 100 butterfly, Brandon Sholtis was 10th in 51.39 seconds after posting a 50.32 in the prelims. Zach Johns was 19th in 52.14 following a 51.59 prelim time.

Mitchell Davis was 17th in the 200 breaststroke in 2:07.38 after a 2:05.52 prelim swim with Micah Rhodes placing 25th in 2:12.14 after a 2:10.81 prelim time.

Sam McManus placed 13th in the 100 free in 46.08 seconds which was just .01 seconds slower than his prelim time. Sam Wagner followed in 19th in 47.29 with a 46.76 prelim time.

DePauw's 400 free relay of McManus, Wagner, Matt Gullickson and Swieter finished eighth in 3:05.38.

The Tigers return to action on January 7 at Ohio Wesleyan.
