DePauw Finishes Third at NCAC Championships

Granville, Ohio - DePauw wrapped up the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships by finishing third for the fifth-straight year. The Tigers totaled 1,113 points while Denison won with 1,942.5 and Kenyon was second with 1714.5. Wabash was fourth with 996.5.

Sam McManus turned in a school-record performance in the 200-yard breaststroke after finishing third in 2:03.40. He broke his own record set earlier this season. Andrew Petersen was eighth in the event in 2:05.73, while Mitchell Davis placed 12th in 2:11.21.

Eli Anderson was fifth in the 200 backstroke (1:53.37) with Adam Pircon placing 11th (1:57.34), Timothy Spichiger finishing 13th (1:59.89) and Jimmy McDonnell 14th (2:00.36).

In the 100 freestyle, Blake Lehmann paced the Tigers in eighth place (45.51 seconds/45.36 prelim) with Alex Grissom finishing 16th (47.10/46.92 prelim) and Brandon Sholtis 18th (47.30/46.78 prelim).

Zach Johns led DePauw in the 200 butterfly with a 12th-place showing (1:56.96) followed by Matthew Freudenthaler in 16th (2:00.25) and Matt Gullickson 17th (2:01.21/1:59.68 prelim). 

The Tigers' 400 free relay of Kurt Swieter, Lehmann, McManus and Grissom wrapped up the meet with an all-conference swim and third-place finish in 3:04.01.
