Lehmann's Second-Place 50 Free Finish Highlights DePauw's First Full Day at NCAC Championships

Granville, Ohio - At the conclusion of the first full day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, DePauw is in third place with 320 points. Denison leads with 653.5, while Kenyon is second with 572.5. Wabash if fourth with 289. 

The Tigers' 200-yard freestyle relay of Brandon Sholtis, Sam Wagner, Sam McManus and Blake Lehmann opened the evening session with an all-NCAC performance by finishing third in 1:22.56. That time also was good for an NCAA "B" cut.

Alex Grissom was ninth in the 500 free in 4:44.53 after finishing in 4:38.02 in the prelims. Kurt Swieter was 11th in 4:38.60.
Timothy Spichiger was 14th in the 200 individual medley 1:55.70, while Zach Jonns was 17th in 1:56.76.

Lehmann earned all-conference honors with a second-place finish in the 50 free in 20.45 seconds, while Brandon Sholtis won the "B" final in 20.79 seconds. 

The Tigers' 400 medley relay of Eli Anderson, Andrew Petersen, Matthew Freudenthaler and Swieter was fourth in 3:29.43 after going 3:29.09 in the prelims.

Friday's prelims start at 10 a.m. with finals slated for 6:30 p.m.
