DePauw Moves to 2-1 with 17-5 Win over Calvin

Greencastle, Ind. - In all, 10 Tigers scored as DePauw opened the home portion of its schedule with a 17-5 win over Calvin at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers improved to 2-1, while the Knights dropped to 1-2.

Steen Jorgensen got the scoring underway just 54 seconds into the contest and it was 3-0 with 9:40 left in the quarter following goals by Adam Bridges and Matthew Dauw. Calvin's Noah Nedd countered, but DePauw did its major damage in the second as it outscored the Knights 9-0.

Calvin held a 3-1 edge in the third, but the Tigers wrapped up the win in the fourth by outscoring their guests, 4-1.

Jorgensen, Adam Bridges and Austin MacDonald each scored three for the Tigers, while Jack Richey added a pair. Five different Knights scored one apiece.

Charlie Robson and Connor Patterson split time in goal for DePauw with Robson picking up two saves and Patterson five. Mitchell Caldwell recorded nine stops for the Knights.

DePauw held a 52-19 edge in shots as well as a 37-11 margin in ground balls while winning 18 of 24 faceoffs. Each team had 12 turnovers.

Donny Bleifuss led DePauw with 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers. Joel Schaefer finished with three ground balls for Calvin.

DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, March 15, while it hosts Hanover at 7 p.m.
