The DePauw field hockey team ran away from Concordia (WI) after three second half goals to secure a 5-1 non-conference win Friday night.
Before that, however, the Tigers took an early lead at 3:24 with Paige Berliner scored her ninth goal of the season off an assist from Kate Milner. At 28:16, Riley Miller scored following a corner, rebounding a shot and putting it in for her first goal of the season.
Freshman Gretchen Bechthold rounded out the DePauw scoring, giving DePauw a 4-1 lead at 60:05.
Concordia's only goal came shortly before the first half ended when Sophia Kottmer scored on a penalty stroke.
DePauw outshot Concordia 17-4 and took eight penalty corners to Concordia's four. Sarah Foye improved to 3-1 on the season but did not record a save. Kennedy Boyer made four saves for Concordia but took the loss.
Concordia drops to 2-7, while DePauw moves to 7-3. DePauw returns to action Saturday when they host Ohio Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m.
