Danville, Ky. – An overtime goal from freshman Kate Milner gave the DePauw field hockey team a 3-2 win over Centre on Saturday.
Milner scored her second goal of the season while the Tigers were a player down in overtime. They're now 3-1 while Centre drops to 2-2. Centre's two wins this season came previously against NCAC members Kenyon and Wooster.
DePauw led at halftime 1-0 after Reilly Bruce scored in the 16th minute. Centre tied it up in the 49th minute of the second half via a goal from Nicole Deherde.
Paige Berliner gave DePauw the lead again in the 58th minute off an assist from Bruce. Yet, eight minutes later Centre's Caroline Brotzge made it 2-2 to force the game into overtime.
Sarah Guendert got the win in goal. She made nine saves and is now 3-1 on the year.
Centre outshot the Tigers 21-13 and took more penalty corners at 11-6. DePauw was given three yellow cards and one green card, while Centre accounted for just one green card.
Next up, the Tigers stay in Danville over the weekend to take on No. 14 Christopher Newport.
