Pitching Hit Hard in Loss to Southern Maine

Winter Haven, Fla. -- DePauw could not get much going on its second day of their spring break trip in Florida, falling to Southern Maine 17-3 on Monday.

The Huskies (7-4) tallied 18 hits across nine innings. They scored four runs in four separate innings, taking a 9-1 after four innings and a 17-2 lead after six.

DePauw (12-4) had eight hits and received a multi-hit game from Reid Pittard, who finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Zack Wade also racked up a couple of hits, going 2-for-2 with a triple. Jack Thompson brought in DePauw's final run, going 1-for-4 in the game.

Riley Futterknecht started and took the loss for DePauw after being chased out of the game after 1.2 innings. He gave up five runs (three earned) and struck out one.

Andrew Quinn came on in relief, pitching 3.1 innings and giving up eight runs (five earned). Grant Rademacher pitched the final nine outs and gave up four runs (three earned).

DePauw gets Tuesday off and will look to rebound Wednesday when they face Thomas (ME).
