Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University joins the more than 400 NCAA Division III schools participating in Division III Week which runs from April 3-9.
DePauw's SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) is hosting an an athletics carnival in Neal Fieldhouse tonight from 6-8 p.m. As part of the carnival, the SAAC will have a "Pie A Coach or Administrator" station in which people pay to pie a coach of their choosing and vice versa for coaches wanting to pie a student.
Additionally, DePauw's SAAC, along with those at the other nine North Coast Athletic Conference schools, is competing in the "Change War" with the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Campus SAAC groups will collect change during the week and the conference which raises the most combined funds will be declared the PAC/NCAC "Change War" winner.
All of the combined funds raised by the NCAAC will go directly to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute in Meadville, Pa. in honor of Allegheny volleyball coach Bridget Sheehan's battle with cancer. The PAC will be raising funds in honor of Geneva women's basketball coach Lori Wynn, who is also battling cancer.
In its sixth year, Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community.
